SENSATION 10 CT SCANNER
CT
is computed tomography, more commonly called CAT or CT scanning.
It is the process of making an X-ray image of a very thin
cross-section of the body. Wockhardt Hospital's CT scanners
incorporate the latest technology in electronics and computer
science, resulting in a safe and painless way to see inside
the human body without surgery.
During CT scanning, an X-ray beam passes through the body
and is recorded by electronic detectors. These detectors
send the information to a computer; where it is translated
into an image that a radiologist studies to help diagnose
your condition. CT scanning allows the physician to accurately
diagnose your condition with least discomfort and expense.
Accurate early detection allows treatment to begin sooner
so that you can begin healing sooner.
CT is absolutely safe. Although CT uses X-rays, this painless
procedure uses only minimal amounts of radiation during
scanning.
Wockhardt Hospital's CT Imaging Centre is designed with
excellence, accuracy, and patient satisfaction in mind.
Designed for smoother, more accurate exams and reducing
the patient's anxiety, our services can achieve quality
results. A Sensation 10 CT Scanner - the first of its kind
in India, having Multi Slice Technology, true isotropic
resolution feature and low radiation dose to the patient
and user. The patient is more at ease and the clinician
does not miss out on small lesions because of the single
breath-hold imaging. Total body scanning is fast, too.
FUNCTIONAL MRI WITH SPECTROSCOPY – FIRST IN MUMBAI
Wockhardt
Hospital houses the most advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI) equipment with advanced functional MR imaging and
spectroscopic imaging, the first of its kind in Mumbai and
an upcoming technology in the country. Spectropscopy is
a relatively new procedure that uses MRI to measure quick,
tiny metabolic changes that take place in an active part
of the brain.
By producing high-resolution images, functional MRI helps
us look closely at the brain's activity. The scanner is
an invaluable research and diagnostic tool. The ability
to conduct safe, detailed scans of the brain in less than
a second makes the scanner extremely valuable for documenting
brain abnormalities related to dementia or seizures.
The speed and precision of this device help determine precisely
which part of the brain is responsible for performing critical
functions such as thought, speech, movement, and sensation.
This information is vital for planning surgery, radiation
therapy, treatment for stroke, or other interventions to
treat brain disorders.
OPMI MULTIVISION
Wockhardt Hospital is equipped with OPMI MultiVision, it
is a new generation microscope used for neuro navigation.
It has a facility of image injection, auto-focus based on
laser principle and Contraves Counterbalance technology.
The surgeon can connect the neuroendoscope with this microscope
and superimpose live images with CT and MR.
In the OPMI MultiVision surgical microscope, digital image
data from the surgical field is projected into the eyepiece
of the surgeon. This additional information increases patient
safety during neuro surgical procedures. OPMI Multivision
offers the surgeon the ability to harness the information
and technology revolution taking place in the operating
room. It has the ability to directly accept both video and
computer signals. The surgeon receives all important information
'on-line'.
