My Experience of Hip Operation in India at Wockhardt Hospital on Friday 14th April 2006.
I came to India for my 2nd hip operation after a lot of research by my brother on standard of care and expertise.
We arrived in Mumbai and checked through and immediately saw a man holding our name and the name of the hospital and we were taken to a car who took us to the hospital about half hours drive from the airport.
In the week that followed I was given all the necessary tests and informed by the surgeon that he could see no reason for me not to have a resurfacing which would give complete recovery and preserve good bone, unlike the 1st operation which although successful only gives 90% movement and would be more difficult to replace if it should not last my lifetime! The resurfacing is a much more difficult operation for the surgeon and much quicker recovery and less painful for the patient.
The operation went ahead when I recovered consciousness although my body was shivering with shock the nurses were in blowing hot air to keep me warm.
I felt that I was receiving the best possible care as I had all week and the feeling of relief and gratefulness was difficult to describe. At Wockhardt Hospitals the expertise and care is second to none. I am receiving lots of physiotherapy. I like all the nurses and staff and I am confident that I have had the best possible operation and a very positive experience!
